are hard drive coolers worth it? like once i get my computer up and running properly with a new psu and i start playing games keeping my hard drive cool is that a real big issue?

depends on you hdd/case temps if ur Hdd or case is over 40C get a hdd cooler in there ASAP; else not really , UNLESS you have a maxtor hard disk asthey run quite hot and there is a chip on the base of maxtors called the 'SMOOTH' chip which does not react well to heat (known to short @ relativley low temps) personaly if i did not have a 80MM fan causing cool air to flow over my maxtor HDD i would have a dedicated HDD cooing solution

Yeah my case fan blows air over the HDD at the front (120mm) and keeps it at 33-4 degrees even when I try to stress it out. And mines a Maxtor too!!

My case is setup to have 2 80mm fans blow over the hd's but with my wc situation they blow over my water pumps :)

The current location of the hard drives doesn't give them very much air flow but the case itself stays pretty damn cool with the 6 massive Panaflo's blowing in to it :D

I recommend a hard drive cooling solution if your case isn't setup to give ur hd's proper cooling from the get go.

i have a 80mm fan connected to a molex connector and it suck in air from the frond grid of my centurion and sends it over the hdd

centurion yayaya!!!! same as me :) they a nice case but really needsa 92MM fan dremeled into the back of it , a 120MM blow hole and a 120mm intake as well as that thos damn fan grills need to be dremeled out :) stock fan config is so so crap (the cent 5 has good coolin tho) take off the side of the case to see ur temps drop like well a led zeppelin (:))

That's bad if ur comp cools better with the side panel off, lol... I'd be fixing that ASAP.

i now have a 2 fanned hard drive cooler and it rocks!!!! but i had to put it underneith or risk my warenty, but it stil does a good job tho my hard drive is now at 4 degrees

Yeah my HDD rack don't allow for one of those!! :(

I could have put one underneath each of my HD's if I could actually use the HD cage :) I have my hd's stuck in the 3.5" floppy bay area since my HD cage turned into a waterpump cage :p
