h80i problems

hi guys!

i really need help with my setup. i just recently moved everything from a silencio 550 to a graphite 600t -> graphics card running at 30min to 70max. thats kewl. ;) btw i am running a 3770k.

but i am in real troubles with my h80i. when i put it in i got crazy temps - idling at around 30 and pushing all the to 90 when prime 95'd. it's not even getting better - i tried to apply some new thermal paste, i re-tightened the screws (the cooler is not moving - i tightened it with my bare hands. i am a bare bear.) i had it tightened even harder but no luck.

i am running it with 2 nf-p12s in push pull at max (absolutely noiseless) - couldn't stand the standards running at full speed everytime i started the system up.

maybe the h80i is just broken or not meant to be for me -> any suggestions on another water cooling unit (antec h2o or something) or any advice for an air cooler? i am really out of ideas here...

what i want to accomplish would be 20-30 degrees idle and 60-70 at full load. if that's even possible... ambient temp is about 20-24 degrees in here...

everything is stock. ambient right now is 22,5 degrees...

fans running ate 2160 and the pump is only at 1285...

had it running at 2150 before - i am wondering what's going on.

probably that corsair link is not working properly... hm...

no, tbh i havent tried that... hm... just give me a sec hehe ;)

well - i connected the fans to the 600t built in fan control + running at max right now - temps are jumping from 36 to 60 degrees with 1-40 % load...

the same results when going from molex... :(

first of all, thanks for the help so far and happy new year! :)

well i was using core temp and real temp gt ->

hw monitor is giving me

core 0 - 31c° - 48
core 1 - 33c° - 50
core 2 - 38c° - 54
core 3 - 33c° - 47

10 degrees lower than the max in core temp...

your idle at stock will prolly be 5°-8° above ambient.. so that should help on
what to expect for idle. it'll never run cooler than ambient with out pretreated
air.

the pump should always be at max rpm 2150. if varying, then this is an issue
of why the large fluxuation in temps.

there are different "values" for these softie temp progs. does your motherboard
have a temp software title they use, like ASUS has one, MSI and Giggy use their
UEFI OS software. this might solve some "differences" between core/real temp.

If it's not an odd hardware issue then I would switch to an H100. They do cool better and should help keep the temps in check.

Have a look at benchmarks with the H80i if you can find them. What's your ventilation like and how have you got your fans set; pull from outside case?

If you're running push or pull from internal air that could be your problem.

If worst comes to worse; it'll still be in warranty.
