10850k running hot

I have a i9-10850k not overclocked with a corsair 360mm H150i RGB PROXT cooler on it and am and have always got temps creeping into the 80's when gaming and I just watched a jayztwocents video where he has a 10900k oc'd to 5.2ghz with a similar cooler running about 10 degrees cooler running cinebench now his was on and open air bench but surely that can't make that much difference.. his fans were also barely ramping and mine are very audible.

now I can build a PC with my eyes closed but overclocking and configuring fans/cooling have always been a weak point... anyone know what mihgt be going on?

First thing i'd check is how much voltage the mobo is giving the chip as you said you weren't overclocked i know some boards can pump to much into a chip if you haven't done some settings, so i'd say bios is where to start or open CPUZ and take a look.

overclocking is easy these days, nothing to worry over really so long as you stay in a sensible voltage range.

if the cooler is fresh and new paste then depending on the paste there is a cure time.

otherwise i can't think of much else, but i can say a case makes a difference my recent switch from a aerocool P800 to the Corsair 750D I saw big temp drops, but i doubt that is your issue.

Open air makes a huge difference. He's also in a temperature controlled room with AC like pretty much any other reviewers.

This is why reviews = grain of salt.

What you ideally want to do is delid it. Don't forget he will be using stuff sent to him by Intel too.
