Gunboat Diplomat

Well his point gets me nicely back on topic actually, what frequencies do I intend to target with the 780Ms.

I am going to go for around 1050Mhz on the core and depending on how my memory over volting goes around 1.5-1.7ghz on the memory (up from 850/1250) so I hope to get a lot of extra juice out of the cards.

w/e i'm gonna pull out of this

No offence dude but you won't be missed on this thread. Not everything has to be built to your specification and needs, and you're just coming across a your usual moany argumentative self..

It's not often we get someone trying something 'new' or outside the established curve of 'acceptable' here.

I think it's a great idea if he wants to do it, then he should go for it.

(Seriously, ignore SeekaX he's our resident grumpy pants)

if he wants to build it, that's cool, i even think it's a rather cool project, i just don't think it's practical and that's all i wanted to get across. might have gone too far, sorry at OP.

You know you could do that if you took the main fans out and had a contact plate go down onto the metal of the heatsink(which has GPU core heatpipes expsed) with 3 blocks for each bit and then cool those externally, would be a bit of a pain to get back on the move.

It would be easier with the mobile CPU models as they tend to have heatpipes exposed with the fans in place so you could have a stand in place to put it on with the cover removed and then put the cover back on if you wanted to go mobile.

It isn't meant to be a laptop, it's a desktop replacement you can take with you to lan parties and vacations.

And for that it is brilliant.

That is probably the most powerful laptop I've ever seen, makes me swallow my pride about having a desktop...

Well done :D.

Good news and bad news.

The bad news is that the MSI keyboard has totally mis-mapped keys for the Clevo :( It fit so perfectly too.

The good news is the 90% gamut 60hz display is happy at 100hz and is wonderful :D

CPU and GPU temps look very good.
