GTX Titan X Performance?

Besides : U can buy Rampage V MB, and never ever Dry Iced it or use LN with it.
Is that not using it properly, and U should have bought something cheaper ?

Call me sceptical, but I doubt that I need to get the very best motherboard if I change my setup every other year. Especially considering you don't need that good a motherboard to get a decent overclock. This isn't AM3+. You don't really have such a variation in motherboards to the point where you have to spend the maximum to actually get a decent overclock. So yeah, if you're really gonna run a mediocre rig with a flashy motherboard, then its a waste. Its the same with buying a £700 GPU to run browser games.I fully support blowing a load of money on over powered PCs, but there is a point where its just dumb.

£879 jesus that's twenty quid short of a pair of aftermarket 980's. I will wait for the next generation I'm not gonna really repeat the same mistake in did with the original titan

Never buy a single Titan X as there are so many cheaper faster options available.

Im not saying you're wrong, but what examples do you have?

Use google.. its right there at your fingertips!

Think he means that you can spend a little less and get much more than a single titan X. Titan X will really only do well with multiple cards to use up all the vram where other cards are limited. If that isn't what he meant then an example would be GTX 970 in SLI or a GTX 980 in SLI. I'm also gonna go on a limb and say 290x in CF would probably outperform it.. 290x's are cheap these days

I could use google, but I'm interested in his opinion, not benchmarks. :p

2 GTX 970s/980s/290Ps/290Xs will thrash a single Titan X.:)

True, but you can have potential problems when running SLI or XFire, as I'm sure you know ;)

If given the choice I would take 290 CF or 980 SLI over a single Titan X every time. There may be some games where the profiles don't work but more often than not they do work. It is swings and roundabouts.

Anyone who buys one of these for the sole purpose of gaming is a huge epeen moron! Every time NVIDIA mentions a new TITan everyone gets girly and wets their knickers, just nearly called some young douche on bookface a knob, after he posted he'd ordered one and couldn't wait to give Battlefield "the max"...

lol i could max BF4 with my single 780 (when i had it) an still get 70 odd fps

Going to skip the Titan X, I was going to get 2 but the 30% performance jump over the 980 for me personally isn't worth it.

Going to wait to see what AMD have coming out.

After all the hype then I would have bought 2 x Titan X if the jump was a bit higher but for now then I ride my 780 until next 10xx series comes out.

The 12gb of VRAM is insane though......

Ive been running SLi rigs for the past 3 years and have only had one issue with SLi support and that was with Wolfenstien but then my single 780ti demolished it on its own anyway.

I think the days of poor SLi support are long gone

I recon I can manage about 45% over the 980s @2160p.

I will post how I get on against my 980s in the bench threads.
