Please contact your place of purchase and manufacturer in regards to whether or not returns will be accepted.

As far I know, "what is going on with the 970s" is that they have 3.5GB + 500MB of Vram instead of full 4GB as advertised.

Overclockers?, then contact them and ask them regarding the return policy.

Yep same card not ever overclocked it .
l have sent over lockers an email and that have said that I have tell the end of the month to send it back if I wish and that said that if I'm gaming at hight res that it might be a problem but if not the its not going to be a problem.
So now I have the choice to send back or keep ????????.
if I send back what do I get to replace it need help with that , if anyone has any help on that please thank

You know the strangest thing about all of this? There is no proof anywhere that there is a problem.

Yeah, Nvidia lied and that is a bad thing, I hope they get as much crap for it as possible, but nowhere has it been proven that there is an actual problem.
There is a good article on Anandtech where they go into a lot of detail and perform tests, PCperspective have also done the same. Neither of them found any problems caused by the 500mb slower section of RAM.

A lot of the games people are saying they are getting stuttering in are also games that people with other Nvidia and AMD cards are getting stuttering in.

It is up to you whether you return it or not, but i'd read the in depth articles on Anantech and PCperspective about the "issue" first and then decide.

Apparently frametimes increase once you're using more than 3.5gb vram. IMO that's only an issue if you're going SLI. Some have managed to force it with DSR but in real single card use it's never going to happen.
As Tom says, it's still the same card. I'm keeping mine, it's a beast.

You have a good card, no point returning it. People who complained and returned it in most cases were trying to use it to run settings well beyond the capabilities of the card. The whole situation was a bit silly, but no need to go into it now.

Congrats on a good performer.

First of all I would like to say sorry to tinyTomlogan didn't know that was you and thanks for the comment,
and I have come to a decision. Please tell me if what I'm thinking is wrong.
If the card is running at 3.9 gb + 500mg then all that is missing is 500mg .
yes I know my maths ( not lol ) so unless you have a game machine with all the top gear and running
3 × 4k monitors on full ultra that the normal day to day person could only dream of .
I think you know what I mean ?? Lol
then avridge gamer on a budget will never no the difference.
So in my rambling lol .
with all the hassle of having to send it back, time and money sending the card back and having to spend nearly double the money that I have already spent .
yep I have decided to keep the card and if you know of anyone getting rid of the same card I'm going to sli I'm my rig .
so in all that and thank you for taking the time to read all that thanks for everyones help
thanks
sean
