GTX 590 Explode

I had my system running fine and all of a sudden the GpU temps rose to 35 and 60 idle. I decided to open it up and remove an awkward fan. Closed it back up and turned it on. I heard a strange sound and the comp booted up with an 800x600 res.

I tried to open the Nvidia control panel but it says I'm not connected to an Nvidia GPU!

What is going on?!

shit that dosen't sound good. turn everything off, unplug ur gpu take it out, smell it, if it seems fine put it back make sure all ur power connectors are fully inserted and then try again and see if ur computer sees it

then let us know whats going on

no bother, but just curious so we don't do that

I wasnt doing any overclocking to the card, just changing some settings on my motherboard. I plugged in the HDMi adapter and the comp froze. I restarted after removing a fan and it did that.
