GTX 580 Drivers

Hi Guys

I have 2 x GTX 580, been running fine for a while (few weeks) I get up this morning and get the little yellow triangle with the ! mark in it. I restarted the PC but when I try to play something I get loads of pixels with different colours.

I guess the drivers have crashed, but how can it be fine for a few weeks and then start crashing????

Cheers Hay

Loads of pixels with different colours could also mean artifacting/overheating, not just driver trouble. If I were you I'd wipe the drivers and update to the newest version or the last one that worked.

They are the latest drivers and have been working ok for few weeks. But my pc stays on 24 / 7 so have turned it off while at work to see if it was overheating

Maybe worth taking 1 out and benching each individually to see if the same thing is happening, if all is fine try contacting the manufacturer to see if they have any advice.

I've fixed problems similar to this by switching the psu.

Telltale sign here is graphical problems during post also.

Even 1200 jigga watt psus can have flakey rails.

OK I have just got home from work after leaving PC off while I was at work (Normally runs 24/7) and i'm having no issues, so do you think it was deffo overheating?????

Surely if it was onverheating, wouldn't the fan go crazy???? Fan sounded normal

I have just played Black Ops multiplayer for a few rounds and everything was fine. I had EVGA Precision running on second monitor and there has been about 7-10 degree's different between the cards, does this seem right, they are in slot 1-3 in the motherboard.

I just realised thats probably because I had both screens running

7-10 is quite normal.

You mentioning the fans not seeming to ramp up does sound concerning tho. Check that the precision is allowing them to ramp up and not doing something crazy like sticking them to 50%.

Fans are on auto......

I meant if they overheated in the night, and fans didn't go crazy....

But the PC has been off all day, and since I have been home 2pm It has been fine.

Maybe running 24/7 isn't good for it?

Hi,

When I got a second 480 SLI'd I didn't do anything to the driver and soon after I got the yellow triangle. I re-installed the cards and it worked a while till i got the triangle again. I removed 1 card, booted in Safe-mode and re-installed the driver with the custom driver sweeper option. Then installed the second card SLI'd, booted Windows normaly and its been months since that and no problems.

To boot in safe mode with or without networking(internet) in Window 7 press F8 while booting before the Windows loading screen. If you get a screen with a blue box try F8 again or something logical to get past theat screen and keep pressing F8. Then you should be given options on how to boot Windows
