New out of box build with 8GB 9.9.9.24/1600 Sniper, will I see much difference if I upgrade to 16GB memory. It is subjective I know but I normally do some video editing, Call of Duty Black Ops, Need for Speed, AA3 and watch BluRays.

Opinions are dangerous but I need one! What say you?

Depending on how heavy your Video editing is, i doubt you'd even use up to 16gb of memory, The standard 4gb or at max 8gb is more then enough for your usage.

Thats what I thought but the price point was low so I was going to jump. As for Video editing, lots of capturing to do from Super 8 and VHS and then scrub for content and archive/burn to bluray or dvd. Thanks for the reply!

To be on the safe side i'd go with the 8gb memory kit, would be all that you will need for your video editing and more then enough for gaming. "Most" of the time using 16gb memory is mearly only for bragging rights or if you Soley do high end 3D graphics rendering and such, Other wise its a waste of money which could be better spent on something else.

There are a couple posts on this that some reviewrs did, just google it. They did the difference between 12gb and 24gb, There was actually a small 1-2 fps drop. And even the timmings did not make a SINGLE difference past 1600, And some fps drop in games going to 2133+ etc. Even 8gb of 1866 beat out 16 at 2200, on a i5 2500k.. If you want to play two games at once or like to video edit at the same time as playing go for it. If not buy something else for an upgrade *^.^
