Hello everyone,
So, my specs:
27, male, Swiss, studied mechanical engineering until last fall when some serious health issues that had been persisting for a few years finally required me to drop out (nothing life threatening, but recuperation has been arduous and is still ongoing). Will be going to college again next fall, until then I'm doing some web development and focusing on getting healthy again (or at least healthier).
Before going to college, I spent some time in our armed boy scouts (infantry, Lt), worked for the overnight branch of the Swiss Post and did some freelance bookkeeping.
I've been building PC's since roughly the mid-90's and the first CPU I put under water was an Athlon Thunderbird C 1.4 GHz around 10 years ago with an Aquacomputer Cuplex.
Besides computers my major time consumers are probably Wikipedia, movies, TV shows (non-reality and documentaries), mechanical things in general, programming and when my health allows, keeping in shape and being outdoors.
Also, I've more or less adopted my dad's girlfriend's dog (12 years old, 37 kg, drool-free and very well behaved). He's a lovely chap, I must say
Current PC-related projects:
I acquired an SR-2 and various other components about two years ago but fell ill before being able to finish the build (or even begin it, really).
Provided everything is still functional after moving two times since then, I'll probably be finishing that over the summer.
I originally stumbled upon OC3D via TTL's Youtube channel, but my health troubles turned out to be a major drain on my motivation to do pretty much anything, which is why I've only joined now.
Looking forward to the ride,
Raphael
