Yo guys, how goes it?
So long story short, my current rig is running a 1090T, 2x4Gb G.Skill Ripjaw X, Asus GTX 460 with a Corsair HX850. Initially, I was inclined to buy an unlocked 6950 (got a 580 TFIIII but it's destined for SLI in my other PC that is currently living with my bro), but after seeing some of the reviews for the 7800 series, I'm seriously considering them, especially due to the fact that the cheapest I found a Sapphire 6950 that unlocks is £200, where I can get a Sapphire 7850 for 220 or a 7870 for £260 (or an XFX at £210 and£270 respectively). This will probably remain my main rig till Intel release their Haswell CPUs, so no X-fire/SLI or triple screens, just a single @ 1080p. I've more or less eliminated the 6950, so I'm at 7850 vs 7870, or is there something out there that should be in the mix? Are the extra frames worth it? I've also heard that the 7870 OC's like no tomorrow... Help me guys, indecision is on parade!
Cheers,
Aneesh
