GPU upgrade

Well I paid £462 for the Egva GTX 980 sc and the 780ti dual classified is £328. This was more for the OP than myself but at only £328 is cheap lol I game at 2560x1440 on the Asus swift pg278q. But me personally I'm gonna stick with the 980 better power consumption and more VRM but for anyone who already has a 780ti and wants to sli £328 is a steal.

I think you have chosen the right card for you at least you will save on energy bills and be futureproof for a while;)

You know what i think I'm gonna council my 980 order.... The egva 780ti is now only £308! I'm not worried about power consumption plus I'd be saving almost £160! I mean I thibk it's worth it until at least the 980ti or equivalent. I only really play fps like bf4 and ghosts not worried about losing the extra 1gb vrm either lol sorry but £300 for a beast such as the egva dual classified 780ti is a steal lol

Don't.

Seriously, take it from a 780Ti owner. Just get the 980.

And to be honest I dont see the sense in purchasing a 780Ti only to fork out $$$ for a 980Ti down the line if thats what you referred to.

Just get the 980.

I'm not worried about the money as there's plenty of time to save lol plus with the 780ti I'm saving £200 plus the money il get when it comes to selling the 780ti so that itself il keep for 980ti. Performance difference between the 780ti and the 980 isn't that major either. Each to their own I guess lol me I'd rather buy cheap now then pay the big bucks when the 980ti comes out :)

Hi All, this is my first post, I am building a workstation and I like the look of the PNY K4200

Does anyone know if a NVIDIA Quadro PNY K4200 will work OK on an ASUS X-99 Deluxe MB?

The ASUS qualified vendors list says the K4000 is OK but does not mention the K4200.

Many thanks in advance if anyone can help.

I would say go for the 280 as another mentioned or you could just go for the msi r9 270x and unlock to get the performance of an r9 290. Or if you have enough money to jump up to the price--which isn't that much due to the fall of prices of these AMD cards--I'd suggest you to get the MSI Radeon r9 290x 4gb. Since performance/value 290x would be you're best bet. And you wouldn't be limited by vram.
