Going to buy this drive TONIGHT unless you say no

lets say that both of my seagate drives died within the last 6 months, try looking for some western digital drives...

Not worth it unless you're on a strict budget.
Personally I've had better experience with Seagate then WD. IMO Toshiba are the best though they basically make the same 3.5' as WD.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't really advise you to buy a Seagate drive. Personally, I use WD Caviar Blues in almost every personal/client build. The 1TB one is cheap, 7200RPM, 64MB Cache, so plenty fast.

Hitachi are also a pretty good brand, although I think WD bought them a while ago anyway.

Better off just buying a regular HDD and a small SSD that you can then set up for caching.

Ok, so how about one of these, dropping down to a 1tb which will be enough for now.

I am thinking either one would be good? If so, is the black worth the little extra cost?

As long as its something dependable, going to start doing more Video editing and the such and I hate only being able to work on one project at a time because I do not have enough disc space. Currently working with like 270 gigs total on my machine, even just 1tb would make a huge difference.
I do already have a small SSD that I run my OS on along with my programs that count like Photoshop, Zbrush, Aftereffects. Then a small HDD that I use for storage and to DL my renders and videos too. But need another drive for more storage and still good enough to run some games and stuff on so I do not have to take up what little is left on my SSD.
