Manufacturer response on newegg to a guy who couldnt get signal from his gpu either. Same motherboard.

"Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about the issue you had with the motherboard. If ASUS CPR came on at POST, it means that there was a incompatible BIOS setting and the board recovered itself allowing the motherboard to function normally. Please try entering BIOS, load defaults (F5), save and exit. Re-enter BIOS and verify that the settings are indeed returned to defaults. If you were using AI Suite TurboV to overclock the system, please either turn stock settings or unload the module and continue tests. To continue support, please contact me below. Thank you.

Thanks for the fast reply,

All bios settings are as standard and i have reset the cmos.

its weird that the gpu works perfectly for hours once the bios have been entered and exited without changing any settings

Shame because the windforce cards are superb, you should be able to get that 670 above and beyond a standard 680. :( Try another gpu if you have a spare, see if it has the same issue. If it does, then the motherboard is the culprit. If you single out the windforce, time to warranty. Monitor your temps as well, that cooler on this card should be very very good, also double check drivers.

i know! i spent ages researching GPUs and settled on that because its basically a reference 680!

and no i don't have another one unfortunately =/

ill probably have to end up sending it back and trying again then going down the faulty MOBO route

Best of luck getting a replacement. You might be able to consider yourself one of the few elite who have had a faulty windforce :|

the evga 670 ftw is on a 680 board as well and has a black pcb. but it gets hotter, so watercooling shout at least be considerable.
