hello.
im about to buy a z97 mobo in price range of 100£ -140£, and i could use some advice.. i was looking at Hero VII and beside huge price tag it doesnt seem to offer much (no pciexpress for example), then i looked at Gigabyte Gaming 7 and it looks pretty good full features, best vrm solution, pciexpress, good sound but..
maybe some other mobos U could recommend ?
i prefer black/red scheme but im open for everything i guess
will be used to games mostly, would like to future proof it also (pcie express ?, m2, good bios, stable) since i dont feel like changing it too soon

rest of stuff:
cpu :4690k/4790k (gonna order with mobo)
cooler: my old Noctua Nh-U12P but first stock cooler until upgrade kit from Noctua arrives.
RAM Kingston HyperX Predator 2133 2x8GB (already have)
GPU Asus GTX 780 Ti DirectCUII (already have)
PSU EVGA Supernova P2 1200W (already have)

Please help me, i saw Toms review about gigabyte gaming 5 but he mostly talks there about colours of it which i dont like too much also, but as far as i know Hero VII got some sound issues on build in sound card...

would apreciate some help guys :)

"sound issues" Very specific.

Ill be honest youve got an Asus GPU.... And the Hero looks a million times better than the Giga one.

I personally have the Hero, and have no issues with sound at all, for me it has ticked all the boxes I had for the machine I was building, (was upgrading from an over worked Q8300), and to this day, I haven't regretted the decision of picking this mobo once over any other.

As you can see by my sig, I got the 4790k, and 2 x 8GB @ 2400 mem sticks, the CPU I run at 4.6GHz for most the day to day things unless I know I am encoding videos, I will then change the profile in bios to run it at 4.9, which the H100i, it handles with ease, the temps never go over 85°c whilst it is being pushed.

Looking at the specs you typed, that PSU you already have is major overkill for the hardware :p but as you said it going to be mainly used for games, you would only need to go for the i5, so the 4690k.

well i got Asus gpu cuz i was aiming for Hero when i was buying GPU :P

Thanks guys for input :) and PSU i got is won from EVGA :P so i got it for 23% tax price :P

Just sounds like user error to me. Everything will need the settings sorting. Probably just needs to disable or uninstall the GPU audio drivers or something wanky like that.

That issue was driver related not long after the board was released, and was hit and miss with users as to whether they got it or not (and was resolved by hitting the soundstage button on motherboard), it has long since been resolved with driver and bios updates.

so i guess its back to Hero for me ;) and if U guys are here, U think its worth goin with 4790k over 4690k if im gonna just game and use it for heavy daily use like internet :PP

i just wonder if HT maybe usefull in more games in future.. im really happy with my old i7 (i know that back then there werent i5 so i couldnt go with it) and dont want to "downgrade", and i wonder if thats something worth bigger price ;/

also on 3rd October cashback from Intel ended and ive lost my chance to get 30£ refund ;/ Maybe U got some inside news if that promo is coming back any time soon ? :P

No, the i5 is all you will need for internet and gaming, the hyperthreading on i7 only comes into use in things like video encoding, rendering, heavy picture editing (think professional use on this).
