Anyone else taking them atm?

I've got my head burried in revision, it's such a PITA!

Mind you, 10 week summer :D...

Good luck to anyone with GCSE's.. I hated them

Tip.. take breaks from revision, as you can overwork youself.. and it doesn't become fresh in your mind.. and also have a good breakfast every morning.. helps you immensly.

I did nothing for GCSEs and ended up with decent(ish) grades. Believe me you get to college and they suddenly seem useless. Oh and they seem a million times easier. :)

Good luck none the less.

For some reason I never seem to get anything done during study leave - Instead I rebuilt a 70's camping stove to cook my breakfast on this morning xS oh well.... (and yet I still somehow get good grades)

haha ;) Im not worried about bad grades, Im sure I will get good ones, I just hope I can push myself and get great ones..

does any one else do sciences in modules?

I used my study leave productively. I must have spent 200 hours on oblivion in that time. Although I did revise quite a bit (and I knew most of it already), so that's why I came out with 10 stars. I miss GCSEs, they were so easy (not at the time though). At least they don't really count for squat unless you're going for top unis (and even then)

And best of luck guys + gals, though I'm sure you'll be fine

10 stars :O

I've been predicted about 7, reckon I will get about 5.. but 10 :O!

7 is pretty awesome, so's 5. Generally people at least get if not exceed their predicitons, so you should be fine.

Im currently doing them, had R.E yesterday but just drew pictures, rather draw a good picture than be good at r.e :D. GCSE's are pretty easy and pretty pointless just like any other exam you take further down in school then A levels. Im predicted B's and A's and i will settle for that since i dont have to revise. Also im doing science Modules ( did first mod in Y10 and got A) doing the additional science very soon (biology on wednesday). Dont spose u did DIDA i.t did u:P?

I did AIDA in year 9...

ooh, I've done three modules- triple science, got A*s for the first two though, so Im hoping to round it off :)

Drawing In RE? I had RE yesterday, but it's certainly not my strong point..

yeah well i dropped r.e in the middle of y11 to go do an electitions corse something that might be useful, but still had to do the exam which i had already failed :P

Best of luck to you all. As useless as GCSE's turn out to be once you've done A Levels and then a degree if you want, I'd certainly encourage studying fairly hard for them and not to study minimal amounts because others manage to get away with it as you may not be able to do the same. They will come in handy if you're heading for Ox-bridge and similar Universities and really, it's only about a month's worth of hard work which is nothing when a long summer lies ahead ;)

It's the A Levels that you really don't want to mess up. I made a mess of my AS Levels and resat most of them alongside A2 modules in the second year. Lots of hard work but it paid off, now having had a very enjoyable first year at university and another few more to come!

I do mine in modules.

I've started my GCSEs last year (Year 9), thankfully some of my course are BTECs :D

I do (bold is compulsary);

English Language

English Literature

Mathematics

Double Award Science
(2 GCSEs, 6 modules and some other random tests in all)

ICT (DiDA, BTEC course, got a C which was the max in year 9. Now doing some OCR course, nearly finished so I should have a Distinction again (A))

French

Then my options;

BTEC Engineering(Should get a distinction - A)

GCSE History (Done 80% of the coursework, the tests are easy apparently so i'm on track for the A* :))

BTEC Business Studies (Already done 3 units of level 2, got an A iirc, now started Level 3 (AS Level stuff i think)

I do statistics after school too, should get an A* in that too, so I'm pretty much on track for everything, just need to work in English as I'm falling behind as I hate it! :(

Mesa doing my science GCSE (B1, B2, B3) in 7 days!

And i'm only in year 9.

Note how this is a formal exam and not some from of experiment to see how good we are.

Hmm... We are doing B1a, B1b, B2a, B2b. B3 is A Level stuff...
