Gaming Rig for work colleague

Hi all,

This is just a quick thread I have opened to see what you all think can be done for a colleague of mind who wants to build a gaming rig for £900.00 and not a penny more.

He would like the rig to last a few years from a medium to high graphical perspective on any future AAA games.

Builds can exclude peripherals.

(Just something I slapped together quickly)

Intel i5-6600K
MSI GTX950 Gaming (for future SLI option?)
8GB DDR4-2400MHz
Corsair RM750i
be quiet! Dark Rock TF
MSI Z170A M5 Gaming ATX
Samsung 850 PRO 256GB SSD
NZXT H440 NE B/R Chassis

Let me know what advice you would give him.

I'm guessing they won't be overclocking, right?

I've made quite a few changes based on that. I've replaced the GPU with a much more powerful one (of course if they'd prefer nVidia replace it with a 970) at the expense of a non overclockable, slightly slower CPU. Bare in mind that it is still more than enough for any cpu intensive game. I've also used a cheaper case.

I don't think you are getting much benefit from the 6600k this would be what I would go for.

Intel i5-6500
Scythe Kotetsu CPU Cooler
Gigabyte h170-HD3
Kingston Hyper-X Fury 2133mhz
Zotac GTX 970 AMP
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
Be Quiet! Straight Power 10 CM 500w
NZXT Source 340

All this came to 925 euros or 730 GBP on mindfactory.de and would walk all over your proposed build in almost every gaming scenario, hope this helps!
