Gaming build for a mate (2000 pounds)

So a friend of mine wants to buy a new gaming rig, and wanted me to select the components.

The budget is €2500 (roughly 2000 pounds).

He DOES NOT need a keyboard, a mouse, a monitor and an OS.

So this is what I came up with for now:

-intel core i5 3570k - €222,90

-Corsair H100 - €104,90

-GIGABYTE Z77X-UD5H - €214,99

-Corsair 8GB DDR3 1866MHZ Vengeance Blue - €59,90

-EVGA GTX670 FTW 2GB in SLI* - €424 x2 = €848

-NZXT Switch 810 Black* - €174,95

-Corsair Force GT 240GB SSD - €234,90

-Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD - €109,90

-Corsair AX850 PSU - €192,90

-Sony Optiarc AD-7283 DVD Burner - €22,99

-Two Blue LED 120mm fans for the H100 - €???

SubTotal (Without fans) - €2186,24 - more than €300 (€300 = £242,82) under the budget!

He doesn't want watercooling, so that isn't an option for the extra budget

Is this build any good?

This rig WILL be build, it will be build in the month June

* = changed component from original plan

By the way, when I was using the "PC-Builder" from alternate.nl and I select the two GTX670s and the AX850, it says: "The two GPUs will need a PSU with two individual 12Volt circuits, please change the PSU or delete one graphics card.

Actually if it is for a present I'd think about spending the money on sleeving for the cables and a decent lighting setup to really show it off.

about your fans, I believe they make blue spectre pro's. Those will do nicely. Rest looks solid but as said before PSU is overkill.

here is a link to the spectre pro fans. As there are only 3 stores in holland that sell those.

these fans cost a lot so stepping down the PSU might be a good idea

But a Cosmos 2 doesn't have a sidepanel

Going with a silvertone case would fix that. Personally unles you are going to WC cool I don't think you really need a cosmos 2. It would dwarf everything! lol

Im still €100 below the budget, so the fans won't be a problem

Might even change the cosmos 2 for a case with a side panel, so the budget will (probably) decrease

Oh ok, 2 strippers then.

Yea maybe look at another case to really make a presentation piece out of it (i have to admit I don't know much about standard cases - just hardware)

yeah I know, one with a side panel

And then Bitfenix Alchemy braided cables and some Blue or White LED's. I'm getting in the mood!

I highly doubt that he will need 2 gtx 670s because if he's gaming at 1080p then one will run pretty much any game on highest settings very smoothly.

Also I agree that 1200w isn't needed just get a decent 850-950w psu.

Other than that I see nothing wrong with what is sure to be a great build and I think he will be extremely happy with it.

I think I'll change the 1200w for an 850w. But I'll stick with SLI 670s

If the money is there to spend then I see no harm in getting 2 670's, Im really glad you didn't go down the route of "Oh i have lots of money to spend i shall get a 3930k"

Yeah xd

3930k is a great processor, but people who get it just for gaming, are kind of stupid imo. But that is if you buy it only for gaming

I agree, why not save a little bit of cash grab a GTX 680 that will be more than enough for the rig, grab either a shinobi XL or a silverstone case bung in fans, cables and possibly a custom water cooled CPU loop instead of the H100 with the change you have left over from taking a single card instead of 2 cards?
