hello,

here is a memory cooler i like, i've got 1. its cheap, and we can get it with free P+P

link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390195985833&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

It is about 3 inches wide. i had to move the CPU fan for it

Why?

RAM memory units never get too hot in your information. Is that correct?

Memory modules are made by engineers with a physical genius for a mind and coolers are made with the genius' mind in mind.

Think its not a gimmik.

I know ideas it's not every computers need to have a memory fan cooler and a CPU heatsink fan makes little air pressure between the memory chips, circuit boards and heatsinks etc, and not all have heatsinks ofc. Over-volting and Over-clocking makes the chips hotter ofc. Will it never be too hot?

Other reasons?

If your case has decent airflow, the air just moving around the case will keep it nicely cool. But if your case doesn't have any airflow than you might want to consider a RAM cooler, but ONLY if it won't interfere with your CPU Heatsink. There's a reason why most RAM kits don't come with a cooler, cause you don't need one; no idea why Corsair ship them with fans though

Unless you're planning to hit 3000MHz on your RAM don't bother with cooling, waste of money that can be spent on pointless games on Steam.

I think the RAM coolers are for aesthetics. Especially the ones that have leds. The more leds you have the more pwnage.

Thats pretty cool looking. Takes up alot of space. I think ram cooling is just a novelty type aesthetic . Like the ram that has the heatspreader with the watercooling barbs. Its like come on...really...like i'm really going to hook up 3 dimms to watercooling.

i nearly creased with laughter.

i got that G.Skill cooler installed and i'll keep it going because i feel for those little OC'd chips

You could do worse. If you remember the Corsair T30, which is a TEC Cooler for their RAM. Who would seriously draw an extra juice from their PSU to get sub ambient temps on their RAM?

I agree, and if it was ALL about temperatures it would be one thing, people switch ram alot, who wants to spend all that time unhooking and hooking up tubes and syncs to their sticks lol. IF someone had a good enough cpu cooler, that doesn't invade ram slots, and they want to add ram fans for a touch of....i dont know...flare...I don't have any prob with that.
