Freeze on E7 error code on DP55WG HELP please!

Hello, I'm new to this forum and would like some help.

My PC that I've had for about 3 months has now gone seriously wrong. I can load the bios and everything upto the E7 - "Waiting on user input" code comes up, then it freezes.

I've tried unplugging everything apart from the CPU, GPU and RAM, but nothing will work! I've tried to flash the BIOS but it won't flash either.

I wish I knew what I've done wrong, but I just can't figure it out. My motherboard is the intel DP55WG if that helps at all.

Which is the faulty component?

Can anyone tell me what's gone wrong or how to fix it?

There is normally a setting in the bios called halt on errors? Try setting that to no errors or equivalent.

Might have just found something else to try. Hit F10 for the boot menu and select your hard drive for it to boot off and see if that works.

Your previous suggestion is N/A because my mobo doesn't have that setting but will try to switch to hard drive boot

Thanks for these quick replies

Sorry what I meant was just to try the hard drive with a different sata cable than the one you've been using to rule that out. If you can go into the bios and monitor the cpu, then the chances are that that's ok. The only definitive way to test it though is to plug it into something else...
