WOW! JUST SAW THIS! I was catching up on other messages and came on to this thread. Couldn't come at a better time to cheer me up.

I'm very open about my life now. I used to be super shy and never said anything, now some think I share way too much. :) I have nothing to hide and sometimes other folks get to realize they aren't the only ones out there having certain problems. Since my wife walked out 3.5 years ago life has been tough. I'm way over that, we are friends since I'm a guy that does not hate anybody (well, there are a few in the world), but seems like there is always something new to knock me for a loop just when I think all is okay. Health issues mostly. I'm not looking for any sympathy or pity, just trying to give folks an idea why something like this means so much to me. Two years ago March 13th I got a pacemaker due to something I was born with that finally gave out. A month later I tried to have a heart attach and had a blockage fixed. Now I'm diabetic too. My mum will be 88 in June and that is stressful taking care of her, although she is in great shape for her age. Had her in the ER Monday night, all is okay. I went in the ER Tuesday night myself and spent the night. Thought it was my heart, but it was okay. Having stress tests Tuesday and Wednesday to be sure. Spent a few hundred US Monday due to a sewer problem. I have mentioned recently my oldest bro was found to have terminal cancer. All this happening lately I think just put me over the edge and I'm super stressed right now and I worked myself up and ended up in the ER.

That all being said there have been good things too, just to many bad things at times. I'm very bad at focusing on the bad and letting it get to me.

Finding Tom Logan's videos was great for me. I'm a life long geek and worked in the electronics field and computer field since a teenager. I started working on tech stuff to make money at a bowling alley when 15. I like Tom's way of doing things and I bet I can out talk him...well, maybe not. I showed my sister a video and she laughed and said if it wasn't for the accent she'd think it was me talking. I didn't know of the forums until I saw something about the contest. If I had known of them I'd of been here months before when I found the videos. I don't win things, I used to say. That isn't true anymore. :) I'm not here due to the contest, I'm here due to Tom and all of you great people...the contest just lead me to the promised land.

Corsair, Gigabyte and Tom have my loyalty. That is one thing anybody that knows me will tell you, I'm loyal to family, friends and those that do anything good for me. You make a good product I'll tell everybody. You do good videos and reviews I'll tell everybody. I'm not shy when it comes supporting good folks, and they are indeed good folks. All of you here are. I'm in the US, but I still come on here and click on Tom's sponsors.

I'm going to have more to say, I'm sure. I have not watched the video yet. Any haters on YouTube, don't worry about them, they aren't worth your time. I'm not going to give them mine. I've been on-line doing local BBS's starting in the 80's at 1200 baud and got on the net via satellite through a BBS that ran a relay for colleges before we had ISPs to get on the net, I have seen many morons through the years and I find it easy to simply ignore them, except when you want to play with them and frustrate them. :harhar:

Congratulations Fred, you deserve it! Tom, your act of generosity towards Fred is remarkable. You have my respect entirely. You're a great fella!

Thank you to all again.

I plan to take pictures from when it gets delivered, opening, unpacking, to getting it on my desk and more with showing a pic of the monitor after first boot. May be others added later. Just thought, I have to look up the case to see the height, I may have to do a very slight mod to my desk, just raise the top shelf. I have limited space. Simple fix.

As many of the regulars will know FredEx won a 3570K as a part of the Custom Corsair Compo. I said I was going to try my best for him to get the parts to make it an entire rig. Some of the bits are new and some are ex-review bits I had here but all in all it should be a huge upgrade from his old rig!

Here I go commenting elsewhere and forget to come where I should have commented first.

THANK YOU!!!!!!

You are one hell of a man, Tom. You were raised right and I know she has to be extremely proud of you. Corsair and Gigabyte, you are the greatest! Never expected the water cooling. This means a tremendous amount to me, especially now. It is tough to be a uber geek all your life and not have the funds anymore when most of my life when I wanted it I'd just go and buy it.

The system looks great! Some great kit in it and I love that case. Nice video of the build and you had me teared up with what you had to say, Tom. Just shows you don't have to have met somebody in person to have them become a friend. I have to post the link to friends and family here yet, I know my sister will be in tears, my mum was.

When it gets here there will be many pics taken. I'll even try to catch the delivery guy before he's running away, I've scared him before. :)

Edit: Over hear the "Brown Box" video card comes in a plain brown box usually with a laser printed label slapped on it. There are a couple places near me that cut out the middle man. They have connections back in Taiwan or where ever and they get product right from the factory they sell at their mail order site and at their retail site they have now, they package them in a brown box at the retail site. You can do walk in buys at their mail order site, no showroom, and any no brand name stuff will come in just the sealed anti static bag.

The geek's ultimate prize !! Getting a photo of the delivery driver

I remember when I bought my first fully built Alienware seeing the enormous box passing by my window. Ain't gonna lie, I peed a little

Well this is just bloody marvellous!!
EDIT: I just realized this might be misconstrued as sarcasm. It is not, just to be clear./EDIT

I'm gonna go to bed with a very mushy feeling in my insides tonight :).

@TTL: Track list for vid?
