Fractal design define xl 180mm fan spec

180mm fan in my xl started sounding like Russian refrigerator preparing for takeoff.. into space, and due to xl weird top fan mounting bracket thing, I have no idea which one would fit?

Any 180mm fan should do if they use standard fan mounts. Could always measure yourself and see if it works out to double check..

Yeah I would measure it if I didn't have to pull motherboard out of the case in order to get to the damn thing, and it doesn't look like "standard" 180mm fan, i think it's slimmer.

Looks like a standard fan to me. Doesn't look like it would be hard to measure the top part of the fan. here is a 180mm fan. Standard size. Try to measure that fan and compare as nothing on the internet talks about the size of that fan. Nothing to compare against.

The bracket shrouds the fan, there is no way to measure it without taking it out.

Have you tried contacing Fractal directly?... I did it once and got good help from them :)

I'll try that, thx.

It's 180x180x25mm which means silverstone 180mm ball bearing fans won't fit :banghead:

Any recommendations for 180x25mm ball, or magnetic bearing fans?

Hi Tom, 180mm Phobya fans have HydroDynamic bearing, and every single hydro bearing fan that I had, failed (fractal, bitfenix), after hydraulic oil leaked (which smells horrible by the way)
