Isn't there a way to bypass the warning page in chrome? It pops up every time i go to another thread or back to the main forums page?

Thank you for the heads up

There was some code inserted that pointed towards a site where there WAS malware, its be shut down and removed for ages though so there was no threat to any of the users and thats why we didnt post asking you to run virus scans.

Its all been sorted our end though

Anything to do with those spamming muppets with the "IMAGE" in their post?

Yeah I saw the following when trying to access the forum here, a 403 forbidden error and a permission fault on one of the sites files most likely the injected code that TTL posted about earlier as well as both Firefox browser and google going nuts saying this forum is unsafe.

I sent you a message on twitter TTL not sure if you got it but if you say you've fixed the problem, you've fixed the problem.

It might be a good idea to move all of your site config files out of the root public directory on the websites server its hosted on one up and maybe amend or create a php.ini file locking down the site more.

But you probably already know all about securing a website so no worries but if you don't understand what I am suggesting, please feel free to contact me.

has anyone tried flushing their browser cache as the old page may still be resident in memory hence the warning

We are clean our end and locked down, we have disabled a few things which is why some images are not showing up.

Maybe unrelated but my fb wouldn't log in and I had to change my password, however i didn't receive any emails saying it had been changed. This has happened before though but it was a very secure password, maybe just a fault with chrome because it's throwing a funny whilst I'm on the forums.

Were you infected or was it a false positive?

lol, confirmation bias i think...

Everyones PCs will be fine as all the mods have said in previous posts. Think people are using a small website glitch to try and explain all their computer errors here...

Well not really. As I said in my post it could just be because Chrome was throwing a funny whilst I was on OC3D because of the false positive. It's unlikely anyone was infected with malware.

The last post was to check to see if anyone else had similar issues, not to start an argument or hate on OC3D in any way.

I'm not trying to start an argument mate, don't worry.

Just think that as you can surely see from all the posts in the recent topics that there are many more people complaining about various different problems they're having. Just find it a little ridiculous really. This isnt aimed at anyone specifically.

That is true. But a lot of the issue reported are in no way even linked to the browser or internet content.

I know I am going to sound like a 's**t stirrer' and I don't mean this post to come across as it but the virus today isn't something to just ingor, it was a serious virus and did infect my machine (my work laptop with windows and eset fully patched and sitting behind a fully patched business grade watchguard firewall with the av subscription enabled) and it shut down my antivirus program (Eset business security 64 bit) as well as install a root kit and disabled the 'base filtering engine' service which is crucial for any antivirus to work correctly. This information isn't my opinion, it was the facts I was given from the technical engineer (Neil) at Eset today who I had to ring as my machine was royaly infected and I couldn't fix it myself. There was a fake adobe flash update which it used to install it's self and in the words of Niel, it's a nasty b*****d.

I'm only passing on what I have seen and been told today because if you run a virus scan, and you have an infected machine, you will prob get the all clear when you're not!

I have details at work of the programs he used to remove all the infected files and root kit installer etc and I have the name of the virus too (can't remember at the moment) if anyone wants to be on the safe side.

Hope that helps?
