First-time build

Note: This build is currently in the process of being built.

2011 must've been the year I decided to try becoming computer-literate and for the most part I'm playing it safe. I'm planning for a decent gaming rig, hopefully future proofed for a while. I've already bought some parts, which dwindled my resources a bit, so what I'm currently doing is keeping up to date on new hardware, waiting patiently for new releases and such. Theoretically by the time I have enough money to buy a current PSU, GPU, SSD etc there'll be something around the corner to keep me intrigued, so I won't be buying any of those things individually.

What I've already purchased/received:

Chassis: NZXT Phantom. Black colour.

CPU: Intel i-5 2500k. Plans to overclock.

Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Deluxe 1155.

RAM: Corsair XMS3 dual channel 1333mhz 4x2GB.

Cooler: Noctua NH D14.

Graphics Card: MSI GTX 560-ti

PSU: Recycling my old Coolermaster 1000w. Had to cut a corner here.

Disk Drive: No idea what it is, but I'm recycling my old disk drive.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium

Sound Card: ASUS Xonar Xense

Boot Disk: OCZ Agility 3 (SATA3)

Data HDD: Seagate 2TB Barracuda XT (SATA3)

I managed to snap some of the gear a while ago:

Happy Birthday to me.

Made a bit of an error on my previous purchase: I bought a sataII hard drive, which is unfriendly with the particular motherboard I purchased, so I'm presently formatting it as I type and using it on my current computer, for now.

I think I'll wait before buying a replacement HDD for the rig, but I may get Windows 7 and a Corsair AX1200, perhaps a disk drive.

Hey, guys! I know this is an old thread, but you know how it is. You get sidetracked and have to spend a little in emergencies!

I'm still alive and hopefully the rig will be soon, but I have disappointing news: I won't be able to take pictures of the rig as I build it. I'm going to attempt it tonight.

I know it's not the most intriguing system in the world, but it's a newbie pride thing, I guess.

Have a nice day and say a prayer to Joe Pesci for me!
