First time build

So far so good, the cpu wasn't fun. Felt like I was gonna crush the damn thing.

Was a bitch getting the 2 x 4pin into the 8pin on the mobo, access isn't the best but I got there in the end.

Never applied thermal paste before so I just did the blob in the middle and just hope that works out ok. Is it ok that I moved the cooler a bit as I had a bit of hassle with the main bracket, It never left the surface of the cpu ?

Back to it tomorrow night.

another few hours tonight, I fired her up tonight also with just the basics and I assume that been able to view the bios and it prompting me for media is a good sign, temps within bios showed 28 / 29.

Save the worst till last me thinks, no idea if thats what most people do but if not then ops

Last shot before I called it a night.

Very nice parts. All apart from that case. I never realised just how much like bum a red inside would look but I do now.

Hopefully it doesn't have a side window.

can I ask a stupid question, what is folding ? lol

the red will tone down a bit when the outta casing is back on, I got both window and non window side panels to use

so far so good. Fingers crossed it's stable

lastest shot, will have a final shot early this week.

I have to say I have enjoyed this alot, now I just wanna build more.

Not bad for my first attempt at building one.

Sceenshot taken after running pc for about 2 hours, this is all stock / no bios changes at all.

Does it look ok ?

Well I have to say it looks 100% better now it's mostly done. But yeah, that red is ghastly. I know it's been done to appeal to ATI owners but eww. I certainly wouldn't get one.. However, fair play to them for supplying two side panels.

I think there were hovering around 1.14 / 1.17 as I'm at work now I cant check but I'm sure thats right ( set to auto ) I havent made any changes in bios yet as I want to just take 1 step at a time.

The paste I used was the PK1 and I just basically put a blob in the middle, bigger than a grain of rice but smaller than a pea

Its really nice in the flesh, I used my one for quite a while as my main case dude.

Fair play. I mean the case does look marvelously put together. I don't think it helps that there are blue parts in there throwing off the balance.

If it was based around an AMD system (CHIV) with Radeons with stock coolers it would look rather menacing.

What doesn't help for me is that during my teens (when I was young and stupid) I decided to paint all of my walls black and do the skirts and rads red. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep.

turn speedstep off and enable LLC

Looks like a pretty sweet build hardware wise, I'm with AlienALX tho as I dont go much on the red, reminds me of the computer case I cut up with a jigsaw cutter and spray painted red, But is all down to personal preference

I don't even remember the last time I did a whole system build for myself, Its alway upgrades now lol, never a whole new system, maybe one day.

Congrats on the successful build to, glad nothing went wrong.

can anyone suggest fan replacements for the lancool ?

3 x 140mm

1 x 120mm

In black and can be controlled via the nzxt sentry fan controller.

Not exactly sure what fans I should be looking for exactly.
