So after mulling it over for a good few months I decided to bite the bullet, order some bits and pieces and try build my own system rather than buying another pre-built one. Can honestly say was very apprehensive at first but very much enjoyed putting it all together in the end.

The specs:

i5 2500k

P8Z68 V-PRO/GEN 3

8Gb Mushkin Blackline

64GB Samsung 830 SSD

GTX 550 Ti (this was the only thing I pulled out of my old system)

Noctua NH-D14

Corsair AX850

Don't really like the look of white spectres but they were on sale. My intentions are to upgrade bits and pieces pretty swiftly including the case, fans and graphics card (Hi student loan on April 16th!), just wanted to build something that wasn't too expensive first to make sure I got to grips with building my own system and didn't majorly bollocks anything up!=P

Would appreciate some feedback that I can take into consideration when upgrading/re-doing the system.

Thanks for looking =)

Thanks for all the comments, would definetley like a bigger case I think, this just feels and looks a little cramped!

Echoing what the others have said - that is a great first build. Good hardware selection and well put together. You should be proud of that system dude!

Again thanks for the comments! On the 650d I do think it looks a very tidy case, what's the cable management space like at the back? I'm not the biggest fan of the large fan in the front, anyone have experience of a quiet 200mm that would be good there?

The 650d is an option I'm considering for a case upgrade, though to be honest initially I was looking at something bigger like the Switch 810. Seen some great mods of this case and it's really tempting to buy one and have a play around with it.

Nice first build! ^^ the bitfenix spectre 200mm ones I heard to be more silent than the stock ones in the 650D. Cable management space is huge, no worries

Switch 810 rocks too. Can't go wrong with any of these. If it was my choice right now I'd choose the switch 810 in white.
