It's called luck, and nothing more than that.

I've lost count of how many of these type of posts/complaints I've read about PayPal. I believe their HQ is in Ireland, and trying to discuss your problems with them is a non starter.

I never ever deal with anyone who prefers PayPal, so Ebay is a nono for me, specially since I've been ripped off 3 times.

If they ask for PayPal, I offer an alternative, a check or COD. If they refuse I say "Your choice, and go elsewhere."

Always hearing complaints and luckily nothing has happened yet, however too many stories and including this one only affirms that it will be a set amount and nothing more than that.

trouble is no matter how many times you rant about it, no matter how many times you mail egay of paypal nothing will get done.

I've just stopped using both, not that they're going to be too bothered but slowly more will follow...

ebay is not as attractive to me as it was years ago, it's full of shops and scams rather than genuine people selling their stuff.

I collect 80's skateboards and in the early years ebay was great for picking them up from all around the world but hey ho, as usual the scammers have caught on and there's so many fake auctions out there (seeing as some go for anywhere between $100 to $10,000) and when you get ripped paypal do nothing about it.

Shame as it pretty much stopped me collecting but until something is done I'm not prepared to carry on.

Come on Google get something sorted PLEASE!!! :D
