Find Me A Beast

Well obviously Titan SLI will win... You keep neglecting to buy the 780s and leaning towards the titans. Just buy the titans if you really want them. Otherwise for cost effectiveness go for the 780.

I do want a Titan, because I think it'll be more future proof and the space is there for if I add multi-monitor high res for £260 more it's not that steep but I'm not ruling out a 780. I just don't know what I want yet.

At the end of the day, I have to view your opinions but be cautious anyway, there are people that would say don't get something because it's shit, because they don't and can't get one themselves.

not many people like this around here tbh, more people want to help make the most of your money and get the best rig you can.

6 GB on a single screen is definitely overkill, but if you want to run only one card and multi monitors then the titan is a good choice.

i only have 1GB on my card and i haven't got near it @ 1080p

Not been on this forum for long, so don't know the people here but I've seen it on the past, I got sick of bit-tech years ago when it was just CustomPC, people would turn into arses for no reason.

I'm swaying more to the Titan atm but we'll see.

titan is an awesome card with 6GB of vram on a single card it's going to be able to run multi monitors well. think it will be a while before you see games struggle on it.

which ever you get make sure you put a build log or pictures in the rig gallery :P

That's what I want, while I can now I would prefer to buy a Titan because in a few years time I might not be able to get a top GPU anymore, I'll probably never be able to spend £800 on one again!

When my 4870 couldn't handle BF3, that was annoying. I had it for a few years before hand but it was an awesome card and was still playing every other game out. I don't want BF4 destroying it.

Okay I'll trust you all then. :P I'll get a 780.

Can I ask this though, I watched a video of the 7990 last night that LinusTechTips did (not as good as TTL!) and this may sound stupid but I never knew that a dual-GPU card actually counted as 2 GPU's, but at the same time I never gave it any thought as damn I could have eight GPU's then! (obviously now I know you can't). Are the 7990's any good? I'm not sure how long they've been about, all I know is there is an issue with the Crossfire drivers atm, but would dual 7990's be good? My Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 has two PCI-E slots.

you could only run two 7990's xfire as that would count as 4 cards, which is the max.

The performance isn't much better than that of the 780 and the 7990 is 300€ more than the 780 (at least where I live). So the answer is no. Avoid that card AND the 690. Titan actually wouldn't be such a bad choice in your situation. If you can't afford dual 780's you might as well go for a single Titan. The extra fps and double the VRAM wouldn't hurt. If I were you though, I'd wait for EVGA to release their 780 Classified and see what it brings to the table. You can expect that card to be even more of a "Titan killer" than reference 780's.

AMD have stated a driver will be released on July 31 that will fix the runt frame issue.

It's probably going to be a 780 but that's not for definite. I got hold of two OCZ Vertex 4 126GB SSD's yesterday for free! So just need the GPU, PSU and RAM now. :)
