Hmmmz, see if anyone can help here. I have recently tried to install a wee visual trinket for my desktop, a Vista style sidebar for XP, and it tried to install Adobe acrobat 8, which i already have, now, since then i have uninstalled the sidebar and Adobe, but im left with the copyright security file in my Adobe directory. I cant delete it, as its read only, and i cant change its status, as it denies me access. I have tried editing the registry in DOS, and even trying to delete it in my Over clocking install of XP, on a separate HDD. No dice. Now, whenever i right click an icon, either on desktop or in the HDD Program files directory (its on a separate HDD from my OS) i get a dialogue box telling me that Adobe is starting to install. If i let it go on, it just says it cant find it. Lol, this is doing my nut!. When i was in my OC'ing install of XP, i didnt get the dialogue box, but i still couldnt delete it or change its status from Read Only.

What the hell can i do.

Oh, and the Adobe was a *cough* version ;)

Probably worth giving Safe Mode a go, although it may not work as it doesn't from another install. I think its F6 you have to hit on start up to get the Safe Mode menu thing up.
