Feronix' Desk/ Room

Heya guys!

So as some of you may have noticed, I've not been very active on the forums for the past few weeks. The main reason for this is that I was re-doing my room, and in the process the entire floor and a wall needed repairing.

Now it's almost finished and I felt like sharing it with you guys :)

Rig gallery can be found here:
http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=54309

The peripherals consist of:

- Roccat Kone [+] mouse
- Steelseries Qck mouse mat
- Medion Erazer/ Saitek Eclipse II keyboard

- Behringer MS16 Studio Monitor speakers
- Audio Technica ATH-M40Fs headphones
- FiiO E10 DAC
- Samson C01 Studio Condenser mic
- Phantom PS400 PSU

- Ikea Galant (160cm x 80cm) desk
- Modern Warfare 3 disc coaster

- Samsung SyncMaster T24B750 Monitor/TV
- Xbox 360 Slim 250GB

Things I still need to do:

> Mount a big, flat black pillow to the white wall to turn my bed into some sort of couch. I've got the pillow here, just no idea how to get it stuck on the wall.

> Mount my hockey sticks to the wall, but I need to mount the pillow first.

> Find a place for the turntable + speakers.

I might update the OP when I've done all this :)

And now... Pictures!
...made on my phone :(

That looks like a really cosy man-cave. Nice setup too, simple yet really tidy.

Thank you :)

Nice and tidy :)

Are you honestly a fan of that keyboard though?

Thanks!

Honestly; I don't. Gotta admit it's one of the nicer rubber dome keyboards I've had and it's served me well for the past two years, but I really want to go mechanical. Had my eyes on a MX Brown CM Storm Quickfire with white LEDs or an MX Brown Ducky Zero.

But then again I'm also working on getting my driver's license... and a new tat... and I want to upgrade my rig and I don't have enough money to do everything

Yeah haha

Loving the skateboard-shelves! Great job mate :)
And what guitar is that if I may ask? Headstock looks a bit like a Martin / Sigma :)

It's a Century WT-705. I literally can't find anything about them on Google, but it's an acoustic guitar; not an awful lot a manufacturer can screw up on  It's treated me very well for the past 3 years.

Nice looking room! Whats with the blank skateboard decks though?

I made the shelves myself so I got some cheap skateboards at the local toystore (€15,- each). They came with a tacky sticker which I took off and then I spray painted the bottom white.

Did not go for any fancy patterns or decals as I was trying to find a sweetspot between a clean working environment and a playful bedroom :)

You need to add more monitors.. all that unused desk space could be used for a triple screen setup:)

I'm planning to downsize my rig to a Phenom ITX which I will then place on the desk. Leaves me with some room at the front to do work at the desk.

If I upgrade monitors at all; I'm going 1440p!

agghh :( neat clean decks :( my heroin board is a mess, mind you its cos i use it lol, but i do like the stand

and loving this room :) tidy man cave! :)

I see, it looks like a nice guitar :D
And yeah that's true, I learned that when the body (just underneath the "sound hole" (if that's how you call it in English)) and the headstock vibrates when you play a random chord (D for example), it's a good acoustic c:
But anyway we're going off topic, as I said I really like your workspace, and those skateboard shelves really are the icing on the cake :D

Most unbranded/unknown branded guitars are just based on already well established designs.

The majority of electric guitars you see are just based on Stratocasters - have been for a long time. Same story with quite a lot of other instruments actually.

I want a 1440p monitor so bad. But my 7950 would struggle to play at that res:(

Same, but the fact that they're so expensive makes it easier for me not to buy one

I'm currently on a GTX 670 but I've noticed that I barely game anymore.

Seeing this makes me think I sit way too close to my monitor lol

My previous desk was only 60cm deep where this one's 80cm and it was fine, though I think I prefer this one.

Sorry matey, I went for clean looks with this. Didn't want it to look too messy :)

Thanks!

Almost everything about this guitar is custom anyway, with the exception of the body, headstock and fretboard. I'm actually looking to replace the latter as it has some white paint on it and I'm looking for some chrome-ish strap locks to match the tuning mechanisms.

Thanks a lot dude, seem to be getting some nice positive feedback on the shelves :)

EDIT; Just found out that empty whiskey bottles make for excellent bookends when you fill them up with water.

Looking good mate nice and neat and tidy. What do you think of the Beringher ms16's ? Ive got the 20's and they're awesome the best £90 I've ever spent.

Thank you :)

I like them! Cost me €70,- and beat the hell out of my previous €50,- 2.1 speaker set which wasn't bad by any means.

They sound pretty flat, which is lovely for most of the music that I listen to. I can hear the individual tracks/ instruments better now, although when I listen to a song with lots of bass I feel like I'm missing something.
