Dude, I think it's due to the Noctua not having enough air going in it and not having enough space to push it out. What the hell sort of a case is that for hardware like this? Also bear in mind as that's your only exhaust that all the warmth from the GPU goes up and gets sucked straight into the heatsink. Just saying, there's some really decent cases out there for very little cash - Look at the Xigmatek range or something.

He also has all 6 memory slots populated, I wonder what other voltages he had to increase in order to make that work at 4GHz. Also I think Tom tests on an open testbed so when you stuff that Noctua in a small enclosed space with low airflow, you can't expect it to hover under 70 degrees C. In that environment 80+ is much more credible.

I only installed the other 3 x2gb ram today..im not overclocked at the moment.. also I wonder what that plastic burning smell was.. lol im joking I did take that plastic cover off, also I really don't think I should be getting these temps even in my case..

They look like 120mm Scythe S-Flex 1600rpm fans, once regarded as some of the best fans in the enthusiast community. I think they still are. Kama Flow 2 seems to have what it takes to take their place soon.
Pics of the top of your CPU as it's inside and the bottom of the Noctua, please. A good camera would help too and host them on the link given below so they load without fail. Maybe clean both surfaces up and put a straight object (eg a ruler) on them then repeat the pictures from the side. What we're looking for is an uneven surface, if one's there then there would be trouble. What TIM do you use?

also tried it outside the case and it was 78c with 22c ambient
which was a suprise to me
I did check the noctua and it doesnt seem straight also with the cpu..
I use noctua paste and AS5 and did use shin etsu at different times
Its weird though i've googled about this and the majority of the people saying about high temps have a Asus p6t deluxe V2 like me.. its got me thinking its the motherboard

I think he actually meant the film tab with the red writing CAUTION: REMOVE BEFORE INSTALLATION you get on all base plates that you peel off, not the obvious thing in the pic

Are they hooked up to the motherboard? If so go into the BIOS and to onboard devices and switch all fans on manual or turbo so they're at 12v. (I'm going by memory here) Then switch it on as normal, check idles etc. prime some and report back. If that doesnt work..
I think it'd be helpful to take it out of the case and lay the mobo on a cardboard box or something then try to get pictures of how you've mounted it from both sides. Also, no worries as long as the noctua and the CPU are still in warranty the worst case scenario suggests a replacement. Noctua are one of the companies I respect most due to their service.

i've mounted it properly, I've mounted it like over 30 times, untill the screws are all the way in, I know its in properly, I ordered another noctua also a different Mboard.. I dont think a case will make a big difference to be honest could a new case like a haf x really take 20c+ off I doubt
