Fastest gaming RAM to fit underneath NH-D14?

Hi guys.

What's the fatest gaming RAM you recommend to fit underneath the NH D-14?

I will be overclocking, but on air (NH D-14).

Hi Arfur,
According to Noctua's webpage they put a ram height limit of 44mm for the NH D14.
So just pick some you like depending on the motherboard and color scheme your using.
There are quite a few out there that will fit.

Do you mean overclocking the ram or the cpu? If it's the cpu and your only gaming then any 1600mhz kit will do pretty much Something like corsair vengeance LP or kingston hyper x.

this but you can get Corsair vengance LP in 2333mhz in the next few months you will see msi/mushkin and corsair all bringing out 3000mhz ram

another note anything mushkin make will fit under a dh14

I personally have a soft spot for G.Skill, and their ''RipJawX'' will fit under a D14 fine
Having said that, any ram for a respectable company under 44mm will fit, and you don't need high speed RAM for gaming

I stuck some Sniper ram in a build for my friend too, lovely stuff

Thanks for the replies. Sorry, I thought I was subscribed and my email would let me know about any updates to this thread.

I'll be overclocking the CPU, but would like the whole rig to be as zippy as possible and then turn it down in the hot summer months maybe.

Also, I'm hoping to Crossfire for the first time too. Then when I'm not gaming I hope to switch off the video cards entirely and run off the motherboard or the CPU.

If you don't mind, maybe you can answer these 2 questions too:

1) Best motherboard for gaming, whilst adding crossfire and a sound card (so 3 cards).
2) Any reason (other than financial) to regret buying the Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 come the time?

personally I think the UP7 is over priced for bang to buck. Have you considered looking at MSI's new z77 gamer range that's just about to be released? They will be based on the current MSI boards that are very popular with us guys and will have a few added features such as built in network and soundcards. They will most likely be cheaper than the UP7

i had 8GB x 2133MHz dominatorGT under my D14.

just unscrew the top part of the DDR heatsinks off them.
you don't really need them as they are just for show, and you won't see them under the Noctua.

I'd advise that you get RAM which is 1.5v or less firstly. After that go for looks and speed/timings.

I used some Vengeance xxxxC92000xxxx without any fins on some gaming computer under a D14.

Tried to find linkage, but Corsair seem to rotate out their numbers frequently.
