Fan for i5-6600k

Your welcome man happy to help, I will say this I used the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, It was my first CPU cooler I ever bought, I overclocked an i5-2500k to 4.4ghz I cant remember voltage now but it was definitely more that 1.2 volts ,with no issues using it, quad cores don't really get that warm unless you do extreme overclocking, I hope this does not confuse you more, try looking around the net for more benchmarks on what coolers are available to you and make a decision based on that, whatever you decide best of luck :)

Can you come and tell my i5 that please

Sure just send me 1st class plane tickets, stick up your address and any security information I might need to get in and ill be there in no time :p

Is it heavily overclocked?Does it pass 80c?I'll edit that to say MOST modern intel quad cores*

4670k Clocked to 4.4Ghz @ 1.195v

OCCT will get the temps to 72 on a H100i, chip will Clock a lot further on an extra 0.1v but temps strat going around 80c, can't be bothered to de-lid it.

Thats interesting what Stepping is your CPU?Is it just 1 core that gets that hot or are all them similar?Ahh dont talk to me about delidding dude my 3570k keyring is staring at me :p

C3 revision C0, one core is 4-5c hotter, typical 4670k.

The reason that I linked to the cooler that I did was that it's on the OP's list, and it has a larger (120mm) cooling fan on it.
It's bound to work a little bit better than the others.

As for overclocking, I don't think that overclocking is on the OP's shortlist. I think that he understands that if he plans to overclock, he'll need to spend more money on his cooling.

Running at stock, or slightly over, this cooler is a good choice.

every CPU is different some are warmer than others, some require more volts for the same clock speeds some just wont reach 4.4 whatsoever so your mileage may vary :)

Hmm I thought that every CPU from the same serie have the same overclocking possibilities (with some minor insignificant differences). I guess than it depends on a luck as well.
