Fan Direction Muse

As we all probably know, fans all seem to go in one direction, but do you think that leads to PC vibration?

A chinook helicopter has counter rotating blades, which stops it spinning around etc, but if you maybe got different fans spinning in opposite directions (while all blowing air the way you want it) would that reduce PC vibrations do ya think?

I have no idea what made me think this, but I think it might be quite a factor, even if the fan blades weight very little, all of them going in one direction in most cases might cause vibrations and thus more noise.

If I am way wrong, just ignore me, I am extremely bored...

Can't see how would make it quieter the opposite I'd have thought will make the air more turbulant.

chinooks have counter rotating blades instead of a tail rotor in any case the purpose of this is to counter the gyrosopic effect of the rotors spinning if they wernt there the heli would just spin, of course on a chinook it enables them to be longer and carry larger loads.

But surely having all fans going one way will cause some kind of vibration throughout the case? As the balance will be a *tiny* bit off? Whereas having them countering each other will not effect airflow (they are still going as they would normally, just one set of blades "backwards" and spinning the other way).

Probably because I have been playing Garry's Mod and if you have them all going one way your vehical shakes itself apart usually killing you at the same time...

See your thought but think about it the fans is blowing in air (fans spins counterclockwise for example) the air is gonna have some counter clockwise twist to it so then it will hit th other fan and will be quickly spun the other way. I reckon this will casue more vibration....To be honest I have never even had any vibration from a half decent fan and infact on my single rad I'm runnign in push and pull config.
