Fallout 3 - Review.

Yeah you know it :) Best RPG @ E3 too apparently though I don't think they had any competition :D

Finished Anchorage (had to return to the inferno temp crossfire rig, that was sweaty god I hate summer :( ) and have done all but the last Broken Steel quest. I wanted to do it on level 30 because that rooftop battle with the hellfire troopers is rocks hard. I hate the way you can't get into VATS when you're on fire or stim up :(

Talking of NV though I did see a video that caused some alarm. It was in a casino but it was really sparse and empty. They have their work cut out for them there tbh. Casinos are supposed to be a place full of people and noise.. If they're empty it will feel wrong. And generating that many 3d characters will be a challenge.

Perhaps, the engine is getting on, and with a lot of objects on screen I find it does slow down even on the best machines.

I'm not worried about the Casino's being bustling, this is all set many many years after a nuclear war that has ravaged and mutated the landscape and life. In fact, it's kind of amazing Vegas is even there. Some of the weapons look really interesting in that vid.

I don't know how they have swung the story Alex tbh. A few days ago I found a computer in Fallout 3 with info on where the bombs struck and it said that out West it wasn't hit as hard. So I am not sure if Obsidian have made it to suit. I have to say it seems they have, as the damage and carnage to the structure of NV looks a lot better than in Fallout 3 where 90% of everything was crumpled ruins.

It's a shame that neither really did their homework on what happens after an atomic flash. Apparently you get fossil like shadows of people burned into the walls and everything

Crazy stuff man.

Reading a few fallout canon texts, Las Vegas wasn't hit directly. I can't wait for the new one, as I have done pretty much everything on FO3. Gotta say, the Fat Man should be a mandatory addition to most games. I hope the music is as good in Vegas as it is in 3, as it really does contribute to hte atmosphere.

So far their two preview tracks have been excellent. Frank Sinatra blue moon and that jingle jangle one - Gene Autry - I've got spurs. (Don't ask me how I know that..... lol).

Whether they can craft them to fit like they did in Fallout? not sure. Anything goes is the best one though haha Cole Porter rocks !

Diablo, I also reccomend this site mate.

You can, if you wish, use it to cheat (gob gob spit I don't condone that) by spawning stuff. However, to me it was just a list of what's there in the game to find. Without it I would have missed 80% of the mini quests as they're not labelled or marked.

Actually that is where most of my info comes from. Its also how I got to know about most of the side quests and unique weapons. I've not needed to cheat in Fallout 3, on normal difficulty I found it fun, but not really a challenge. Mostly the only reason I've died in the last 100 hours is due to my own mini nukes :D

Haha yeah I've vaporised myself time and time again :D

And every time I throw a god damned Nuka Grenade I set myself ablaze.. hahahaha !!

I play it on the easiest setting. For the reason really that I just like to wander the wastes and scav whatever I can. I don't like getting stressed by a game and a pair of Albino rads can just be a bloody nightmare :(

I haven't used the guide thing to cheat, just give me a gentle shove in the right direction to make sure I haven't missed anything :)

I tell you though dude, whilst playing it on Very Easy makes the enemies easier to kill you only get half the XP. Thus, it takes FAR longer to level up and thus the game plays out very differently. I started my first playthrough on Medium and did all of the main quests with it like that, but once I installed Broken Steel and those rads and super mutant GOD DAMNED HATEFUL BASTARD overlords started queefing all over the place I soon turned it down.

I HATE OVERLORDS. I think they're made of concrete or something.

I found a the best tactic with overlords is to use a big gun like a slow burn flamer, or eugene to take them down. I have the winterised T-51 armor which makes life a lot easier. The overlords keep the game interesting. Compare them to replaying resi 4/5, with all the best armor and weapons which quickly gets boring.

How many times you done it Steps? I'm on my fourth now. Just literally this second finished The Pitt. Went neutral this time and let them get on with it. Still got Point Lookout and crappy Zeta to do but saving PL as it's the best DLC.

If you have a hercules like GPU then install the super HD pack, really makes it sexy to look at.

Ah see, totally different playstyles. I use the Plasma Rifle and CAR etc. Get my Xuanlong out sometimes for the jollies. Wasn't a big fan of the big guns tbh. I also don't EVER eat food I only use Stims. I have the perk that turns 10 Nukas into Quantums and rev 3 blueprints so I'm a Nuka Grenade factory :D

Yup I have that. TBH that's the only reason I have played through Anchorage on each of my playthroughs. Not the best Armour but never needing repair makes it the obvious choice :D

Never played a RE game, ever.

haha you're worse than me :D

Doing it as a woman with the black widow was downright hilarious. Sent that knob from the NC challenge off to the plant and waited for him to die so I could nick his kneecapper :D

yeah its an awsome game really lookin forward to new vegas a hell of a lot prob the game i want most even tho i do want the new Prince of persia games always been a massive fan and owned all except this one so far

Still playing. Finished off Point Lookout inc all of the silly side quests (inc the digging up the treasure lol) and returned to the wastes with only Zeta to do. However I forgot about Holy Water and that other quest from BS. Totally forgot to go back to the Jefferson and talk to that miserable twonk.

So both of those are done now (bandit one and Holy water) and I had already done Aqua Cura.

Will have a bloody close look through all of the quests later to check I haven't missed any :)

Currently own 48,000 bottlecaps and about 1300 stimpaks :D

I think I have some insane number of stimpaks (2000ish), I just think "I might need some of these" and buy them. At least constant talon company attacks mean I cart around 100K caps normally. I just wish I could spend it on something other than drugs and hookers :D

haha yeah. I'm constantly skinting out traders man. That's the problem tbh. I can supply faster than they can get enough money to pay for it all :( Still got a cache of about 50 missiles waiting to go at 41 caps each, but the bastards can't afford them :D
