Speed wise 7200rpm.

Interface wise, USB would probably be best due to compatibility. Firewire is faster but will often need a PCI card.

If your computer is on the newer side, look into eSATA.

A USB drive would be best IMO, as while you do have a firewire port. Many computers dont. And as its external im geussing you want to use it on more than one PC.

What country are you in? Ill see if i can find a decent lookign one for you from a retailer in your nation.

Go for the Western Digital if i were you.

If your only using this harddrive for your PC Firewire is fine, but the whole point is its mobile. Alot of computers dont have them.

I got an I/O Magic 250GB USB 2.0 HD a few months ago and so far it's worked great. USB/1394 shouldn't make much difference performance wise, but as Ham said I'd go for USB for compatibility. If given a choice I'd take one of the better HD brands like Seagate, WD, Maxtor, etc (my drive is actually Seagate, I/O Magic just makes the enclosure). I've also seen some Fantoms around for fairly cheap
