yet another 4k card. Probably because the 290x is as fast as the 780ti in 4k so they decided to make this.

Yet another waste of money and one FUGLY card.
The card wont be fast enough to be able to handle 4K at a decent frame rates so doubling the memory makes no sense.
You would need have to have at least 2 of these to get semi decent frames at 4K.

I don't understand the 4k grind to get cards out. It's a very small market percentage, plus anyone with a brain will be waiting for the 8xx series in SLI if they want to get 60fps at 4k.

Main word there dude, Brain, Not a lot of people in the PC Enthusiast community have 1 of those, They just see something with a 6 on the box instead of a 3 and get it ^_^

... Must get it. I am guilty of getting an EVGA GPU but I'm happy with 3GB and seems fine on 1440P which I will stick with.

Everybody knew that 4K gaming is not still not great options.
If people wait little long they can save more than 1000$ only on monitor, don't even to talk about GPU where probably 2-3 Titan Black will need. If you buy Titan Black SLI you will have problem with performance not video memory.
For 12-16 months things will be difference, still very small number of people can play on 4K without sacrifice something. I would choose rather 2560x1440 with max AA than 4K with AA off without doubt. I doubt even 3 Titan Black can resolve filters on such high resolution.
But this is definitely good news for people who decide to bought reference or ACX EVGA around new year. Because they have chance to owners of other brands look them how cross on card with 6GB Video Memory. When time came for them to send card to EVGA they will use probably about 4-5 months own graphic card and now they have chance to unbox another new without buying new graphic card. You pay once and enjoy twice, new, fabric sealed, nice. Special people who cross from reference on GTX780 6GB ACX.
Other will need to pay full price or stay on 3GB model.
If you ask me, that can happen only once... all of us bought different brands and EVGA owners step-up on new better model and I look them, after that I would burn mine and bought EVGA. Special at the end of 2013 when people who payed GTX780 premium price before drop cross for free on almost 600 CUDA more, 150MHz faster memory and 100MHz faster GPU Clock without paying anything except shipping. 20% more performance than GK110 2304 FOR 20$.
