Hi. Thankyou for your copy-pasted reply to the application sent 29/10.
To ensure we are both on the same page, please may I briefly discuss the job spec, as posted on S1Jobs by yourselves.
"Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising PCB layout engineers
- Creating hardware design specifications
- Creating hardware design verification specifications
- Testing hardware electronic designs
The ideal candidate:
- Will be degree qualified or equivalent
- Have an awareness of designing for EMC requirements
- Be familiar with ORCAD schematic capture
- Knowledge of SPICE modelling would also be advantageous"

Responsibilities:
*I have experience as a supervisor. Assuming I was working with a competent team, supervision needed would be minimal until I was up to speed with the position.
*Creating specifications would probably not be an issue. I am assuming that finalised specifications would be in conjunction with clients of the company. I have excellent customer service skills, developed over 5 years which frequently involved dissatisfied customers or drunks. I expect the customer service side of this job would be significantly easier. If specifications are up to employees, I have a good imagination and am not usually stuck for novel approaches to problems.
*see above.
*I am well-versed in test procedure through various aspects of my hobbies.

Ideal candidate:
*I am a B.Eng (Hons) in Electronics.
*Have a fundamental grasp of EMC considerations, again partly in conjunction with my testing experience.
*I Used ORCAD and SPICE for 2 years at university to create real PCBs. From my experience with it, it is my opinion every company utilising the platform will organise libraries, data input and design execution differently, so most people external to the company would be in the same boat as myself.

I understand from your e-mail that you seek candidates "whose experience match more closely with our Client's requirements."
If I am not suitable for this position, am I to assume you have more information regarding the post that you did not post publicly? If so, with all respect I think you need to re-assess how you advertise on behalf of your clients as your current approach is obviously flawed and leads to time-wasting both on your part, as well as mine.
Thankyou for your time,
Kenneth Clapham B.Eng (Hons)
