I for one am not using over 30 gigs but I am quite annoyed that I was promised uncapped for £14.99 per month. Yes it might be a good deal but it is still something that was promised and has been retracted.

ROFL 30 gb a month asif i dl'ed bout 4 gb to day and there are 3 other puters on my network LOL

i interpret this letter as :

we will treat u asif u have no cap but if u take the piss we will cite the 30gb limit condition to bouce ur ass off our line ...

i think that we have a few stragglers in on the deal who are no loner active on these forums who took advantage.

if it was only active users allowed on the deal then, there would be less people on and there would be slightly more bandwidth to go round :D

its a shame people have joined got cheap broadband and left !

iam pleased with my connection and most months wont use 30gb but theres always going to be atleast one month where i will go over.

Basically there are some users who leave their pc on all the time downloading extreme amounts and it's just not fair on the other users. The email they sent you is to take care of the majority of you.

I missed out on the IDNET deal but I know that I'd be pretty happy with 30GB's a month. :o A reliable 2MB connection with 30GB of usage for £14.99 is a bargain. I wouldn't whine about that at all.

I'm still around, despite receiving the deal only this month. There some good useful info on here and thats what also attracts me ;)

Which is what the offer was supposed to encourage :)

Was after offer for Idnet lost out on that, now lost out on 5gb limit now 2gb stuck on payg dial up crappy e7 wont give MAC been like this for 10 days, this post has already cost 10p at the speed i type can anyone tell me how to get MAC

Could anyone confirm with Simon that it's beneficial to IDnet if we confine heavier downloading to overnights and weekends ?

I'm getting loads of info being on here, such as my partner's new rig is gonna run off a Opty 146 (which I wouldn't have even known about if I hadn't have come on here). Being able to visit on a cheap, reliable connection is even better :)

im still here :P only using like 40 gb a month over 4 pcs cant see what there complaining at tbh kick the peeps who dont use the forums or charge them full price :P

I've been connected for about 2 weeks, and I'm sure I've only downloaded around 1Gb. I liked the idea of "unlimited" which is why I joined (as well as the excellent price), but I know it's very unlikely I will get anywhere near 30Gb/month.

I think this is a good move by IDnet and will benifit most of us "light" users.

As an extra bonus, I found this excellent forum and although I don't have the time to be an active member on a daily basis, I do try and catch up every week or so - and even post here and there when I feel I have something to contribiute.

Thanks SX and IDnet!

For everyone's reference, Simon has confirmed to me that IDnet would appreciate heavy downloading to be restricted generally to out-of-hours.

Out business hours? 9-5

Or out of peak residential hours? evenings

Or middle of the night only?

I don't think it's as formal or rigid as that - he's not setting out rules, nor was I asking him too. The offer seems to be about being fair and honest to each other. Sensibly I'm sure we can all imagine what general out-of-hours are. I would interpret that as something like 8:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday. Others would possibly vary this slightly, but the core hours are likely to be the same.

My big downloads usally take place in the evening and at night.

any one else think this thread is being dragged on abit now??

i think every one gets the idea.

Agreed. I think we all get the general idea.

Any more IDNet developments/questions, please feel free to start a new thread.
