Lack of support from ISP provider IDnet on a weekend.

I have been with IDnet for 6 years or so (recommended by someone on this forum a long time ago - XMS

and i remember when i first joined I could ring up anytime and speak personally to a member of staff directly. Usually Simon would ring me back and take personal charge of a situation until it was resolved.

Over the last year or so I have irregular issues with my email, mainly my fault to forgetting passwords to be honest.

The problem I am having is that I work away from home during the week, so when I am at home having some time with my family (includes PS3 fun with my son) he likes me to buy him updates - which happen to use a particular idnet account. I tried to do just that this morning and got a confirmation email sent to my account - just so happens i forgot the password (i have too many). So i tried to fix it myself by logging in to idnet but could not see that email account listed anywhere.

Easy ring IDnet support and they should be able to sort it out - WRONG! My account does not have weekend support only mon-fri?? I need to get this fixed now while I am at home as during the week I am not there.

In the past I would have been offered a bit more help and not just given the answer that you will have to wait till monday. I was not even informed that accounts no longer carried support over weekends, what do business customers do? The person who answered my call showed no compassion which is a shame, as one of the reasons I have stayed with idnet was the close and personal customer support i received when i first signed up made you feel valued as a customer. It seems now that as the company has grown the personal customer support has dwindled to the point where it is non existant over weekends.

I am thoroughly dissapointed with the service now and am due to move house soon and cannot find a positive reason why i should stay with IDnet anymore - it seems loyalty is not rewarded.

The only response of the response team is to say wait till monday for a real response - while I admit I am to blame for forgetting the passowrd - I am not to blame for not getting it fixed in a timely manner and in my opinion it is a shame.

Does anyone else have this problem on a weekend? if not which provider are you with as I considering a new one.

most providers offer weekend support, i know Plusnet do and they have been really good so far e.g. no Queues 0800 number so no charges (even though its only been a week or so.)

does that include support for problems with email or just connection?

I looked at plusnet a couple of year ago and also note that they still have the best ratings fro customer support,
