EK D5 PWM vs EK-DCP 4.0 PWM

I have used the standard D5 pump before. It is a good pump, i know that.

The thing is.. Is it over powered? And is the DCP 4.0 quieter.
My system:
*Obsidian 550D
* Haswell i5 OC
* GTX 780 Ti (will upgrade to 980 Ti, maybe 2x)
I really don't think thick 360 + 240 slim + CPU + 1 GPU need that much power from the pump.

Silent PC is the key word here...
H100i on the CPU with 2x SP120 PWM quiet editions and 2 of the same fan in the front for intake at the moment. GPU cooled by a H80i, same fan. (all of the fans controlled by Corsair Link - 400 RPM in idle)

I disliked the DCP 4.0,

Its not "that" quiet, its shape and size is quite cumbersome and difficult to hide it nicely. I had one with my EK set that I started with, swapped it out for the MCP 35x. I think you do well sticking with the D5

Since silence is the key, I would really stick with the D5 since it's quieter than the DCP 4.0

I regard the D5 as a high power pump, as it can hande 3 GPU blocks and 3x 480 rads in a 900D case no problem... so i did expect the DCP pumps to be quieter

You're right about the fact that the D5 can handle a lot of stuff since it's very powerful. But it can achieve it in silence which is one of the reasons why I love D5's that much!!

Well consider this. Since the pump (like my mcp35X) is so powerful, surely it allows you to drop the pwm value much lower and still maintain the recommended 1gpm for a waterloop.

I have my pumps set to just shy of 35% PWM. I also added a shoggy sandwich so they are completely silent. Only time I increase the pwm is for bleeding.
