Indeed. In all fairness to quad cpus, and there are great ones out there, unless u do something slightly professional, even media conversion on a regular basis (if ur not using cuda), u'll hardly utilize it outside of benching.
If ur a gamemeister, in the current climate a dual is more than enough.
Haven't heard of Dx11 or Win7 bringing any core releasing apis or anything, so u still got a situation where although all ur cores will be used by the OS a max of (100 / number of cores) % will ever be used.
