Hello, here is my overclock... has anybody got this combination at a higher overclock? If so what settings did they use and what cooler?

Idle

When stressing my processor with ORTHOS I get about 50-55C temperature using nvidia's system monitor.. In the BIOS temps I usually get is 40C idle.

Here are my components detailed as possible

OCZ Reapers 800Mhz 2GB Dual Channel Kit

Geil Value 800Mhz 2GB Dual Channel Kit

XFX Nvidia 680i LT Motherboard

OCZ Vanquisher CPU Cooler

160GB SATA1 Hard Drive

550W Branded PSU

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

BFG 8800GT OC Edition

That is the most of my main parts that are needed for you!

The voltages that I used are as follows

CPU Core: 1.45V

CPU FSB: 1.5V

nForce SPP: 1.50V

I upped the FSB by 40Mhz each time and rebooting and seeing if I booted into windows, I got up to 3.3Ghz! I don't even know if I overclocked it right

The memory is not overclocked and has stock voltage, the memory and the processor FSB are unlinked!

your overclock is actually not to bad i mean its only an 8x multi on the e6750 right ?? or was it 8.5 anyhow this was higher than what i am expectin to get with e6750 on a p31 board

i would think of changin ur cpu before you get stuck in the situation of findin no value to sellin your cpu to upgrade i mean e6750 sells for £70 now and soon will drop again when makin i7 more mainstream

Its the mobo aswell tbh matey, 680's are not the best clockers, the only nvid chipset that clocked properly was the 790i.

Unless sli is a must if you are thinking of changing get an intel chipset.

Garanty I could get 500fsb with that cpu on a decent intel mobo.

At the end of the year, I am building an I7 system so there is no point in upgrading now.. just wanted a bit more power from my CPU
