E-Sata can it be connected to SATA

hi, I have bought a new enermax chakra ATX chassis and it contains a front e-sata port. Inside the case, they've provided the e-sata cable which connects from the e-sata front port and i presume has to be connected into the compatible E-sata header on the motherboard.

my question is, most current and new motherboards do not contain e-sata connecters(they do for the back panel but thats different isnt it?) like a "usb header"

so can my front e-sata port be instead connected to the SATA port instead? i.e. the same port that you'd normally connect a sata drive to

tough one! as not even manufacturers like asus or msi can tell me. I havent tried it as i havent bought a new motherboard yet.

AFAIK, the front panel ones just connect to the motherboard with the cable provided.

yes but can it connect to the SATA port on the motherboard or does it have to be E-sata (on themotherboard)?

if its sata then my problems are solved as all new boards come with it. If its e-sata then i wont be able to use it until a vendor releases a board with an e-sata header port

thanks

Sorry for not being clear, it connects to the standard sata port.
