Drive Set-Up - Streamer

One thing I always try to do as much as possible is keep my files organised. I tend to dedicate certain drives to certain things such as OS, Film's, Games ect. I always encounter the same problem though. The OS SSD is always getting eaten up by hidden files.

I know you can move the temp folder although I am not sure if its worth it. But looking forward I plan to get a new rig sometime soon as well as planning to start streaming and recording gaming footage.

As far as I know 200MB/s is enough to write 1080p lossless footage to a drive. Recordings could get quite long so I plan on having 500GB of SSD to this, before archiving it onto a HDD.

Would it be worth having 1 SSD for the task above or 2 in raid0? Is it possible to have the footage archive onto a HDD automatically once the recording stops?

I also plan on having an SSD for Operating System and Games. I am undecided whether to have two separate 250GB's or combine them into one also. I am sick of my current 120GB SSD with the OS and one game getting filled up by temp stuff.

I then plan on a few large HDD's, one for the video recordings and one for all other programs.

I would appreciate feedback especially regarding the SSD's and whether to Raid0 or not.

The system set-up would look something like this.

250GB SSD1 - OS
250GB SSD2- Games
250GB SSD3 - Footage (Raid0)
250GB SSD4 - Footage (Raid0)
2TB HDD1 - Storage
2TB HDD2 - Storage

or

500GB SSD1 - OS & Games
500GB SSD2 - Footage (or less if I can auto archive to HDD whilst still playing games)
2TB HDD1 - Storage
2TB HHD2 - Storage

Theres not a lot of info here tbh matey, mainly budget and why youre using so many small drives.

To raid an SSD you have to make sure they have a really aggressive hardware level garbage collection because with most boards the trim command cant be passed through the raid.

Why dont you just get a 1TB SSD? Crucial have them for £300 now.....
