So mad right now......
Got my 2nd HD 4870 today for my Crossfire setup, along with my brand new PCP&C Silencer 750 PSU. Got everything installed, spent 2 hours redoing all of my cable management, hit the power switch, flash, pop, smoke, nothing.....
When it happened I couldn't fathom that my new PSU was the culprit so to be sure I hooked up my old PSU and left the new video card unhooked from the PCI-E power cables. Booted right up, so then I was leary about the PSU, however the PSU didn't smell like the genie, down around my GFX did so then I got to thinking.
I plugged in just the new video card with my old power supply, hit the switch, just a blip from my old power supply, system wouldnt power on, smelled smoke again. Pulled out the new card and did a thorough inspection, blown cap on the backside of the card, literally exploded, left a nice scorch on the card.
Not sure if it only popped the fuse in my new PSU or if it actually condemned it to the grave. Unfortunately I can't check without voiding the warranty so I am going to go the RMA route through PCP&C first.
The worse news, after testing with my old PSU, now all of the rails on it are low, and in Windows Asus monitoring software is giving me voltage warnings, SOB!!!!!!!!!! It may have pwned my old supply as well.
This eBay seller is going to get the wraith for sending me this turd video card, I know that much!
