THREAD IN PROGRESS HEATSINK, AIR COOLING AND MIPS TESTING COMPLETE PICS UPLOADING
Data Capture:
Aquaero 4.0
Lamptron FC5
Zalman ZM-PCM1 (cpu & gpu)

Today I'd like to share with you some testing I've been doing over the weekend of the various different options that are available to cool Corsair Dominator ram kits. I'll be testing the heatsinks that come installed with every set of dominator ram. For air cooling I'll be testing the Corsair CMXAF2 Airflow Fan for the air cooling. for water cooling I'll be testing two different blocks, firstly will be the Mips Ram Cooler 7 Nickel block and last but not least the new EK-RAM Dominator - Nickel block.
Test Setup.
Ram - 4 x 2gb Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 CMP4GX3M2B1600C8
Motherboard - Gigabyte 890FXA UD5
CPU - AMD Phemon II 965 3.4ghz (200 x 17) c3 revision
GFX - ATi radeon 4850
PSU - Be Quiet dark power pro 850watt
HDD - 2 x Western digital 500gb Caviar eco green
Case - Microcool Benchtable Banchetto 101

To test the ram I will be using OCCT linpack test on the 90% ram usage. I will run each test for 1 hour. Aquaero is set to log data every 5 seconds. I did a twenty min test with just one ram stick and all four probes stuck to each side upper and lower parts of the heatsink and found that the upper left side was the hottest, not by much mind. Thermal probes will be attached to the left side (side facing the cpu socket) of each ram stick using electrical tape. Each probe will be stuck in the centre of the ram stick making contact with the upper part of the heatsink and not touching the part with the corsair sticker on it.

I will run the test with just the heatsink and then the corsair fan once each. I will run the test for each water block three times each.
