Hi guys,
I've spent quite a while trying to figure this out; thought I'd concede defeat an ask.
Making a new rig for video editing; trying to decide between frequency and timings.
Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB 4x8GB DDR3 PC3-14900 1866MHz Quad Channel Kit (CAS 9-10-9-27)
vs
Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB 4x8GB DDR3 PC3-17066 2133MHz Quad Channel Kit (CAS 9-11-11-31)
other info
i7 4930k
either asus deluxe or RIVE BE (ivy-e optimised and many sata connections needed)
I have a feeling 2133 would be more suited to the constant reads (Sequential?) needed for video editing; but the lower timings of the 1866 got me all nice and confused. I know that 1866 is supported out of the box with the new mobo's, so is there any considerable side effects to oc'ing with xmp up to 2133? 1866 sounds like less hassle
Many thanks for your time; sorry if this is a familiar question.
cheers
Andy
