What is the the max storage an windows 7 64 bit can support if i split them into 2~3 partition? with external and internal drive?

Any particular reason you're partitioning it? It does ultimately slow it down due to moving the heads around etc.

The maximal Size your system can handle comes down to your motherboard for internal or the contoller in the external enclosure. Win7 will handle 4TB just fine.

As to GPT that's correct but it's not instead of NTFS but instead of the mbr. A hdd with a gpt will most likely still be formated in ntfs when running a windows os.

an internal drive should be faster in access times, but as for data transfer etc, the difference will be negliable, so you should barely notice the difference in normal day to day usage.

The USB drive though will more than likely be a 5,400 rpm model, and it is cheaper, personally, I would get the external drive and take it out the case and locate into its new home inside my case, as it is just a normal sata drive inside, that way saving a bit of money.
