DICE Wants "Win 10 Plus DX12 As Minimum Specs For Holiday 2016 Frostbite Games"

I see plenty sending encrypted data from my pc is a big no no.

Didn't see anything in that article to say it was.. more like theories than anything. It's basically saying it connects to a MS server and updates the tiles even when you don't want it to. Not really a big deal.

It's a whole year away. Why would we still want to be using old tech in a year?

Let's face it;DX11 was always a bit of a dog. It was nothing really that DX10 could not do and very dated and old fashioned. We were being held back by consoles.

Now? DX12 is pretty much uniform so we will see far more from it than any other DX ever, why would you want to hang onto the past and still be seeing DX11 games next year?

I just bought a DX12 card, I want to see it used ASAP.

Meh,10 is not for me and DICE have not pushed anything out that I want to play for some time. Perhaps Microsoft should shoehorn DX12 into 7......

originally microsoft stated that both windblows 7 and 8 where geting updates to DX12 but then turned around and sead it wasent possible (more like buy are new **** and get it or we will shove it down your throat for free)

I dont see why it isent possible its only mantle in a dress.

Consoles weren't holding APIs back. They used their own APIs. The console holding us back argument isn't and hasn't been for a long time the issue. APIs were only being held back because they was no competition that had the advancements or capabilities Mantle had when it came out.

DX12 can't run on WDDM 1.0/1.1. It's only can run off the 2.0 version. So getting it to work on 7/8 would basically change the core of DX12. It's not worth the time, effort, or money.

As stated above, Only W10 uses WDDM 2.0. Without it DX12 won't work. It's not directly comparable to Mantle really either so just because one ran off of the current OS's at the time, doesn't mean the newer one will run off the older ones when being created for a new OS.

For the past four or five years we have been guinea pigs for Microsoft. They highly likely knew that the Xbone would be X86 based and so were testing their APIs on us.

Everything in PC gaming is always held back by consoles. There are very, very few games designed primarily with the PC in mind. The last one I remember is Crysis tbh.

Oh btw. Just did some testing with a DX12 benchmark and unless I am very much mistaken (and I really don't think I am but OCUK forums died as I was comparing results) my Fury X is around 10% faster than a Titan X.

So I will take DX12, thanks.

You sure do make up a lot of conspiracys.
Never said don't take DX12.. I actually said the opposite In this thread. I have benchmarked DX12 as well, I know what it's capable of.
